Surface treatment of welding wires
GEO-Reinigungstechnik GmbH (GEO) develops and manufactures demand-oriented systems for the cleaning of wires, cables and tapes as well as workpieces in industrial production. GEO offers a variety of solutions, whether tailor-made, "turnkey" system, an upgrade or as a supplement to existing processes.
In the field of wire cleaning GEO-Reinigungstechnik offers various solutions. As an example, one particular solution for the treatment of wires is the LS-WST system, which is optionally equipped with a gravimetric dosing system or a micro dosing system.
How surface-treated welding wires affect the welding process was investigated in detail by GEO-Reinigungstechnik. The results can be read in the technical article "Surface treatment of welding wires ER70S6 and its effect on the welding properties".
The patented LS-WST cleaning and coating system, wire thicknesses of 0.1‑10 mm are treated with a maximum of 30 m/s, to ensure a reliable, reproducible and pulsation-free supply of the media, where micro annular gear pumps of the magnetically hermetic series are used. These precise pumps can adjust the volume flow exactly to the respective wire speed. A key foot print feature is the compact design of the micro annular gear pumps with integrated microcontroller a simple integration of the pumps into the already existing system could be realized. The pumps of this series are magnetically coupled and primarily maintenance-free.
