Switching from masterbatch to liquid color: faster & cleaner color changes in injection molding with colorDoS
Zilloplast from Zellberg, Austria, produces colored spool rings for technical papers, such as cigarette papers, on injection molding machines from Engel Austria. The different colors are used for quick orientation and size identification. The rings are produced in ten colors. The color addition is 0.03 %, which means 0.04 g of color per shot. Two further shades are created by reducing the amount of color added to 0.02 g per shot. Color changes take place several times a day.
The dosing system colorDoS is used for fast and clean color changes. The precise dosing of the liquid color ensures high color fidelity. The easy handling of the system makes the color change physically easier for the employees and saves working time. Switching from masterbatch to liquid color also significantly reduces waste.
